            TL;DR: TANSTAAFL Mail lets you get paid in Bitcoin when strangers email you. Use it responsibly. Bitcoin transactions are irreversible. We're not liable for missed emails or payment issues.
        

1. Acceptance of Terms

By using TANSTAAFL Mail ("the Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.

2. Description of Service

TANSTAAFL Mail is an email filtering service that:

Connects to your Gmail account
Allows you to designate trusted senders who can email you freely
Holds emails from untrusted senders until they pay a fee in Bitcoin
Routes Bitcoin payments to your account

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old
You must have a valid Gmail account
You must be legally permitted to use Bitcoin in your jurisdiction

4. Your Responsibilities

You agree to:

Keep your account credentials secure
Not use the Service for illegal purposes
Not use the Service to extort or defraud others
Set reasonable payment amounts (not prohibitively high)
Check your held emails periodically for important messages
Comply with Gmail's Terms of Service

5. Bitcoin & Lightning Payments

Important: Bitcoin transactions are irreversible. Once a payment is made, it cannot be refunded through the Bitcoin network. Any refunds are at our sole discretion.

Payments are processed via the Bitcoin Lightning Network
We take a 10% platform fee on incoming payments
Minimum withdrawal amount may apply
You are responsible for providing correct withdrawal addresses
We are not responsible for lost funds due to incorrect addresses

6. Gmail Integration

We access your Gmail via Google OAuth
You can revoke access at any time via Google Account Settings
We are not responsible for Gmail service interruptions
Email processing depends on Gmail API availability

7. No Guarantee of Delivery

While we strive for reliability:

We do not guarantee all emails will be processed correctly
Important emails may be delayed or held incorrectly
You should maintain alternative contact methods for critical communications
We recommend checking held emails regularly

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties
We are not liable for missed emails, lost payments, or service interruptions
Our total liability is limited to fees paid in the last 12 months
We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless TANSTAAFL Mail from any claims arising from your use of the Service or violation of these Terms.

10. Termination

You may terminate your account at any time from Settings
We may terminate accounts that violate these Terms
Upon termination, pending withdrawals will be processed
We may retain certain data as required by law

11. Changes to Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance. Material changes will be announced via email.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, USA, without regard to conflict of law provisions.

13. Dispute Resolution

Any disputes will be resolved through binding arbitration in accordance with the American Arbitration Association rules, except where prohibited by law.

14. Severability

If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect.
